You don't need a helper -- it is only to reduce the upstream bandwidth
requirement from uploading all N of the shares (without a helper) to
uploading only one copy of the ciphertext (which is as much data as
uploading only K of the shares).

So, you can go ahead and use the testgrid as it is, but there isn't
(as far as I know) a helper which will accept your ciphertext and push
the shares onto the testgrid storage servers for you.
