Folks:

The Google Summer of Code organization is now accepting applications
from students. Here is Google's announcement about this:

http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2010/03/students-apply-now-for-google-summer-of.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GoogleOpenSourceBlog+%28Google+Open+Source+Blog%29

To apply to hack on Tahoe-LAFS this summer, do the following things:

1. Subscribe to this mailing list (just so you can keep up with what's
going on in the Tahoe-LAFS project).

2. Look at our Ideas page:
http://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/tahoe-lafs/wiki/GSoCIdeas and choose one or
more Ideas that you would like to work on, and/or come up with your
own ideas.

3. Write to all of the Mentors listed on the GSoCIdeas page --
carbon-copy all of us -- as well as carbon-copying
secorp at allmydata.com, the hot spare backup organizer, introducing
yourself, saying that you are interested.

4. The Mentors will help you write up your Application to submit to Google.

Several students have already started this process. Join us! :-)

Regards,

Zooko
