  Warner gave a shared his screen and gave a demonstration of
  merging/rebasing/remote-updating using git. Zooko and I need to find a
  comparably snazzy revision-graph viewer for linux.

I don't know what tool was shown, but gitk is very useful, even if you
does give you 80s flashbacks.  Enable the 'show all refs' and 'sort by
date' options.
