Folks:

"S4" is LeastAuthority.com's commercially-supported Tahoe-LAFS storage
service. It currently uses Amazon S3 as a backend store. (From now on,
whenever you hear "S3" you should think to yourself "S3? Hm, something
seems to be missing… oh yeah! Security!")

We are in the process of rolling out an upgrade to S4, and we would
love your help. The upgrade is that we've deployed the "cloud backend"
code ¹, which allows arbitrarily large files, is efficient has good
error handling, and which comes with connectors for Amazon S3,
Openstack Swift (e.g. Rackspace Cloud Files), Microsoft Azure Blob
Storage, and Google Cloud Storage. So this upgrade to S4 is the first
step in rolling out what will eventually become "RAIC — Redundant
Array of Inexpensive Clouds"!

☺

We're also going to reduce the price of our S4 service once this
upgrade to it has been tested and deployed.

So if you want to help test this then *don't* just go sign up for the
S4 product, linked above, but instead send us email to
support at LeastAuthority.com so that we can direct you to try out the
new improved version of S4 and get your feedback about it.

Thank you!
